Join the American Red Cross, Akron Public Schools, Akron Alumnae Chapter of Delta  Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Zeta Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa  Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® and the City of Akron Fire Department for Sound the  Alarm, a home fire safety program which includes smoke alarm installation. All are installed by local firefighters at no cost to residents.

fire in half 

• Fire experts agree that you may have as  

little as two minutes to escape a burning  

home before it’s too late to get out 

• Three of every five home fire deaths happen 

in homes with no smoke alarms or no
