Principal’s Message

September 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are just about ready to kick-off the 2020-2021 school year! This will be a new and exciting adventure of learning for all of us.  The teachers and I have been working diligently to ensure that your children will be receiving the quality and rigorous education that you have come to expect from Seiberling.  This is not like any other school year, and while it’s not what we are used to – we are up to the challenge!  We can’t wait to have the children joining us online.   

VIRTUAL Open House will be Tuesday, Sept. 8th  from 3:00-5:00 pm.  Your child’s teacher will send you and your child an invitation to join their Google Classroom.  If you do not have an email address on file, please call the office at 330-761-7956 so we can enter one in for you.  Unless directed otherwise by your teacher, you will log in to the Google Meet invite (found on the Google Classroom) anytime between 3:00-5:00 pm. If possible, you and your child should be visible on camera so your teacher can see you and you can see her. The teacher will share general information about themselves, the Google Classroom, and overall expectations for the first 9 weeks of school. Please do not share any personal information about your child during these meetings as other parents and children may be present on the screen too (you can always email personal information later.)


Material Pick-up Your child’s teacher will post these times and dates on their Google Classroom. During the designated dates and times, please come up to the school and line up at Door #2.  Please remember to wear your mask!  Staff will be at Door #2 to give you all of the materials and supplies needed for these first 9 weeks.  If you are unable to come to school during the designated times, please communicate with the teacher and we will try to find another way to get the items to you.    


Student Schedule  All students are expected to log-on at 9:00 am EVERY DAY.  Lunch break will be from 11:00-12:00 noon and meals will be provided daily for all APS students to be picked up at school between 10:00-12:00 noon.  Please make sure to bring with you your meal pass as proof that you are an APS student.

After lunch, all students will be expected to log-on at 12:00 noon and will be finished at 2:00 pm.

  • Students in Grades 2, 3, 4 start online Sept. 10th.

  • Students in Grades 5 and 6 start online Sept. 11th.

  • Students in Grades KG and 1st start online Sept. 14th.


Communication  Please make sure that you are regularly calling or emailing your child’s teacher with any possible questions or concerns.  Also, please make sure we always have updated information so we can contact you.  We believe in open two-way communication!  We can’t communicate with you if we do not have your correct information.  I will be making a weekly All-Call and Email to your primary phone number and the email that we have here on file every Friday at 5:00 pm.  

I look forward to seeing you VIRTUALLY at Open House. We are going to have an amazing year!!
