Principal’s Message

Dear Seiberling Families,

I can’t believe it’s November already - where did Fall go? With the weather now quickly changing to winter, please be sure your children are dressed appropriately for outdoor recess, arrival and dismissal.  We do go outside for recess if the feel like temperature is above 20 degrees. Also, please do not drop students off for school prior to 7:50 am - we do not open the doors for breakfast until then. If you need any assistance with outerwear for your children, please let the office know so we can try to help.

Also, attendance is extremely vital to your childs’ success - they cannot learn if they are not here! Please ensure that your children attend school each and every day.  Absences can add up very quickly - a child is chronically absent if he or she misses just two days every month! Research shows children chronically absent in kindergarten and 1st grade are much less likely to read at grade level by the end of 3rd grade!  By 6th grade, chronic absence is a proven early warning sign for students at risk for dropping out of school! By 9th grade, good attendance can predict graduation rates even better than 8th grade test scores! Thank you for taking attendance seriously and for getting your children to school on time!

Please remember, schools are closed November 27th through December 1st for our Thanksgiving break.            I am so thankful for all of our staff and students and hope you and your families have a very nice Thanksgiving. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at gllewell@apslearns.org or 330-761-7956.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Llewellyn
